4. Data Retention
Unless a more specific retention period has been stated within this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for which it was collected no longer applies. If you assert a legitimate request for deletion or revoke your consent to data processing, your data will be deleted unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g. tax or commercial law retention periods); in the latter case, deletion will take place after these reasons cease to apply.
5. Data Transfers to Third Countries
This website uses services from companies based outside the European Union (in particular Flourish Studio, based in the United Kingdom, and Google LLC, based in the United States). When these tools are active, your personal data (in particular your IP address) may be transmitted to and processed by these companies. The United Kingdom has an adequacy decision from the EU Commission confirming an adequate level of data protection. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which an adequacy decision of the EU Commission also exists (see Section 8).
6. Server Log Files
The provider of this website automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser transmits to us. This includes:

This data is not merged with other data sources. It is collected on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of its website, which requires the collection of server log files.
7. Anonymous Visitor Statistics
We count page views with a simple statistics function that runs on our own server. It does not use cookies and does not store or read anything on your device. For each page view we record only the time (to the minute), the page address, the website you came from (domain only), the device type (mobile or desktop), and whether you accepted or declined the analytics banner. We do not store your IP address, and the data cannot be used to identify you. Raw records are deleted after 90 days.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in anonymous statistical evaluation of our website (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR).
8. Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"), to understand how our website is used and to improve it. Google may also process data on servers of Google LLC in the United States.
Data processed. If you consent, Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect, among other things, the pages you view, the time of your visit, your approximate location (country or region), the website you came from, information about your device and browser, and a pseudonymous identifier. According to Google, IP addresses are not logged or stored in Google Analytics 4. We use the data only for statistical evaluation and do not use it to identify individual visitors.
Legal basis and consent. If you visit this website from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we process this data only on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR and Section 25 para. 1 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act, TDDDG). For visitors from other regions, Google Analytics runs without a consent banner. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, by clicking "Privacy settings" in the footer of this website and choosing "Decline", by deleting the cookies set by this website in your browser settings, or by contacting us at contact@elections-stats.com. The withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Google Consent Mode. We use Google Consent Mode. For visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, storage for analytics is set to "denied" by default, so no analytics cookies are set until you click "Accept" in the consent banner. Your choice is stored in your browser (local storage) so that we do not have to ask you again on every page; you can change it at any time via "Privacy settings" in the footer. Google may still receive limited technical information that is necessary to load the Google tag.
Retention. Event data is stored for 14 months and then deleted automatically.
Data transfers. Where data is transferred to Google LLC in the United States, this is based on the adequacy decision of the European Commission for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, under which Google LLC is certified. We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google.

9. Contact Form & E-Mail
If you contact us via our contact form or by e-mail, your request including all resulting personal data (name, e-mail address, subject, and message) will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request. We do not pass this data on without your consent.
The processing of this data is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR if your request is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR).
The data you enter will remain with us until you request deletion, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies. Mandatory legal provisions — in particular statutory retention periods — remain unaffected.
The contact form uses a simple arithmetic security check (CAPTCHA) to prevent automated spam submissions. No personal data is transmitted to third parties in this process.
